Drive Options 
Offering flexibility in operation, the N7000 can be configured with either a direct drive with flexible coupling or a pulley drive system. The alignment of the flexible coupling is crucial for preventing wear in direct drives, while the tension of the belt in pulley drives must be carefully managed. In cases of higher pressures or larger pumps, the use of an external ball bearing support is recommended, and users are encouraged to consult with the factory for detailed guidance. 

Fluid Compatibility and Temperature Ranges 
The pump is designed to work best with clean liquids that have some lubricity, significantly increasing the pump's service life. The N7000 operates effectively within a temperature range of -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 204°C), although the maximum temperature for certain seal elastomers is 212°F (100°C). To prevent potential freeze damage, the pump should not be allowed to freeze with liquid inside. 

Suction Lift and Self-Priming 
With its capability to lift water up to 20 feet on the suction side, the N7000 is efficient and reliable. Although the pump is self-priming, incorporating a foot valve is recommended to optimize the priming process. For initial operation, especially after a dry start, pre-wetting the gears with the liquid to be pumped can facilitate better performance. 

Maintenance and Adjustments 
The pump by-pass is a built-in safety feature that acts as a pressure relief to protect the pump from excessive pressure. It is pre-set at the factory and can be adjusted if necessary, but it is not designed for flow control. Users should prevent the pump from running against a closed discharge for extended periods to avoid overheating. 

Applications Requires and Usage 
The N7000 is versatile and can be used across various, specific applications. It is particularly adept at handling fluids with lubricity, such as oils and polymers. For fluids without inherent lubricity, like water or solvents, the pump's service life may be reduced, and specific considerations for seal compatibility and temperature control must be taken into account.
