Drive

Pulley-driven pumps require a pillow block bearing pump design at the drive shaft end to manage belt tension and maintain gear pump alignment, which is crucial for optimal performance.

Liquids & Temperatures
With its extremely close tolerances, the N11500 excels when pumping clean liquids with a good lubricity value pump characteristic. This gear pump for viscous liquids is designed to handle a wide temperature range of -400°F (~-240°C) to 4000°F (~2204°C), with the acrylic graphite packing rated up to 5000°F (~2760°C). Users should avoid temperature extremes to prevent damage to the pump.

For handling viscous liquids such as molasses or oils, the N11500 may require a low-speed gear pump setting to ensure effective operation. Consulting with the factory is advised to determine the recommended speeds and any necessary adjustments to motor horsepower. Additionally, large suction lines are recommended to prevent cavitation, which can lead to gear pump destruction.

Suction Lift
The N11500 is a high suction lift gear pump capable of lifting water up to 20 feet (~6.1 meters) on the suction side. While it is a self-priming gear pump, it is recommended to use a gear pump foot valve to enhance this capability. When pumping from natural water sources, a pump strainer and foot valve should be used to prevent debris from entering the pump and causing damage.
