The rugged design of the Oberdorfer™ bronze gear pump is a dependable option for road de-icing, spraying a brine solution onto sand or directly onto the road to eliminate hazardous driving conditions, pumping water for dust control on street sweepers and many other applications.
Applications
Road Salt
If there is one thing that is constant, it’s the ever-changing weather. Whether you live in the Snow Belt or the sunshine state we are all susceptible to ice. Oberdorfer Gear Pumps with their bronze corrosion resistant castings, stainless steel shafts & fasteners and positive displacement for controlled flow make them a perfect fit for Liquid Deicer and Salt Brine applications.
Aircraft Blue Water Supply
Oberdorfer pumps take the air. If you have ever flushed a toilet on an airplane and felt like you might get sucked in your not the only one. You can rely on a Oberdorfer pump to keep the blue water flowing efficiently. Oberdorfer™ centrifugal pumps have a single rotating metal impeller. Liquid enters at the center and is thrown outward radically by centrifugal force. The impeller is not in contact with other pump parts resulting in quiet, efficient, pumping action. The flow produced is not positive which permits the discharge line to be shut off completely without danger of overloading motors or bursting lines.
De-Icing Equipment
Oberdorfer gear pumps are mounted on de-icing tank trucks which spray chemicals that melt ice or keep ice from building up on planes. Oberdorfer gear pumps are capable of higher pressures to overcome resistance of valves, length of supply lines and vertical elevations.
Transmission Cooling
Centrifugal pumps are the accepted design for almost all cooling systems on transmissions in use today. Oberdorfer heavy duty pumps are being installed as original equipment by leading manufactures of transmissions. Centrifugal pumps have a single open vane rotating impeller. Liquid enters at the center and is thrown outward radically by centrifugal force. The impeller is not in contact with other pump parts resulting in quiet, efficient pumping action. The flow produced is not positive which permits the discharge line to be shut off completely without danger of overloading motors or bursting lines. Consequently, a relief valve is not required.
